Holy crap. Your gallery is better than I ever remembered.
I HAVE to read DBV. I don't know why I haven't yet, I guess I just took a break from DBZ Fanfics as a whole, which happened to include yours. I really should have read them earlier, I'm really kicking myself.

Lemme start off by saying, I'm so sorry for the spam in your inbox for all of those faves I just gave you. :lmao:

You asked me to tell you how you can improve with your Art. I can't help you with that, but I sure can point out the things I adore about them, and give you the praise you oh-so deserve.

Okay, well you clearly know what you're doing. Your anatomy work is amazing, as proven in all of your work, but especially in those few of Vegeta and Bulma dancing (the ones with the planets behind them :giggle:). They don't look awkward at all, and I can't imagine how hard those poses would have been. You've pulled them off flawlessly.

I can't tell you how much I love your colouring style. I love all of the colours you use, and they WAY you use them - wow. I really love the subtle designs that some of your pieces have, where the shaded parts have a dotted design within them, or something of the sort.

Your composition, coupled with the poses, is amazing. I really look up to you for that. It's definitely not an easy thing to do - yet, I can't find a single deviation in your gallery that hasn't "got it going on". It shows, how much effort you put into your work, even in the sketching stages, you must have had the entire thing planned out. You really know how to draw in the viewer's eye.

I also look up to how much you've drawn, I would love to have such a large gallery, and just be able to look back over it. Then there's also the themes you've covered in your countless amount of Deviations. Some of your themes are so out-of-this-world, but they work SO perfectly. From looking through your gallery, the viewers really get a feel of what more than likely happened between Vegeta and Bulma, off screen.

You truly deserve the honor of calling yourself an Artist. Because Art is more than just a pretty picture, obviously.
You play with the colours, the lines, the shading, the composition. Everything. Everything you do screams "style" and "originality". I can tell that you really know what it means, and how it feels, to be an Artist.

I really look up to you, you're such an inspiration. Please keep up the amazing work. :faint:

Oh, and can I be a bother and ask for any tips on inking lineart? It's just that, I'm really, really slow at the process. And for some reason, I'm getting the feeling that you are the one I should be asking on the matter. *shifty eyes* You seem like you would be fast at it. :giggle: So, I'm hoping you have something to offer. :w00t: Anything at all - I'm sure I'll find some use out of anything you tell me.

Wow... I... wow. This is definitely the longest comment I've ever received and I'm totally blown away.I'm honored that you've enjoyed my work so much. I wish I could claim that drawing was as effortless for me as you've made it seem, but it truly isn't. I'm a writer by trade, so all I can really lay claim to is the stubbornness to make the things I see in my head come out on paper (or digital canvass? lol). And usually that means finding the right references to draw from. I've made a little progress that way, but I still don't have the technique to just draw what I imagine, and there are plenty of artists here who have that, or are brave enough to try.

As far as inking goes? Well, I use a photoshop and a tablet, so I can talk you through my process for that, but I'm afraid you'll know most of it.

The first thing is to work with a large image size. I work on a canvass about 4 times as large as what I want my final image to be. The last step I take(after coloring and everything) is to reduce both the measurements and the resolution by half. It's good to get familiar with how this affects your work, because when you're zoomed in on a large canvass you might be tempted to think "oh man, this is so horrible! It's messy! I have to do a lot of erasing and clean it up" when the fact is that it'll look clean and beautiful when it gets reduced. When you're comfortable with it, you'll know exactly how messy you can be.

Second, I'd say abandon the pen tool and practice with a brush. I use a hard brush (no feathering, texture or airbrush effects) about 1.5x the size that I want the average thickness of my lines to be. That way, with the "size jitter" set to pen pressure, I can get a good variation. I usually zoom in pretty close and use as long of strokes as possible, but if you aren't comfortable with that you can set the opacity jitter to pen pressure too, and use short quick strokes to build up your lines. That takes longer, but it'll get you more comfortable with the brush. The more comfortable you are, the faster the process will go.

If you have any specific questions let me know!

Psshh, even with references, you're an amazing artist. And oh boy, don't start me with your writing! :giggle:

Thank you for your lovely explanations! I do use those techniques, but I'm guessing that I'm not messy enough. I reckon my perfectionist's side must really slow me down, erasing what I wouldn't be able to see once I reduce the drawing. So, with my next drawing, I'll strive to be messier! (Haha, that sounds terrible.. :lmao:)

I sure will let ya know if I have any other questions, thanks so much for your offer. And of course, thanks so much for the advice. :w00t:
